History
Toubio is a Belgian organic horticultural business based in Fleurus in the province of Hainaut. Specialising in vegetable and fruit production, Toubio is first and foremost a family venture. Originally, André Lefebvre enthusiastically grew seasonal fruit and vegetables in his family vegetable garden.
Quickly joined by his wife and sons, Toubio now represents 35 years of experience. With two brothers, Bastien and François, the succession to this family success story is assured. André was therefore able to devote himself to the Interbio project, the organic food distribution platform that was so close to his heart.
Diversified and Sustainable Crops
Renowned for their commitment to organic farming and crop diversity, they pay particular attention to their environmental impact. They grow 35 hectares of vegetables and 18 hectares of apples, pears and strawberries. This represents a variety of over 60 products grown throughout the year. This range of seasonal produce is diversified and guaranteed 100% organic.
They also have large greenhouses to grow a variety of hardwoods, even during the harsh winters. They use organic fertiliser to nourish the soil without damaging its composition. These natural, organic resources ensure that every harvest remains fresh and tasty.
In the event of crop failure or fruit loss, nothing is lost at Toubio! Damaged fruit is transformed into juice to give it a second life. Fruit juice is produced solely from the stock of damaged produce. Production therefore fluctuates from year to year.
The barn & Toubio
The Barn works hand-in-hand and directly with Toubio to supply its markets with Belgian and soil-friendly produce. In high season, Toubio supplies more than half of the fresh fruit and vegetables in shop.
Toubio & Interbio
With his sons taking over from him, André was able to devote himself to creating a distribution platform with a solid reputation in the Belgian organic sector. This collaboration with Interbio represents real added value for our project, as it allows us to maintain a strong link with the producers selected and promoted by André, while simplifying the ordering process by limiting the number of intermediaries and contacts.
