History
The Papelotte agroecological micro-farm, located in Waterloo near the battlefield, is a permaculture market gardening project launched by Perma-Projects. Louise and Jonathan are market gardeners there, producing organic soft fruits and vegetables without any mechanisation or commercial fertilisers, in order to address the challenges posed by the energy crisis. The focus is on soil health, with the aim of producing higher-quality produce. They hope to strike a balance between a sustainable ecosystem and human activity, and to encourage a shift towards a more nuanced understanding of the natural phenomena around us.
Their production is sold through two systems:
- Weekly basket subscriptions to be picked up at the farm or in depots
- Sales to partner organic shops within a maximum radius of 25km
Louise & Jonathan offer various activities in addition to their vegetable production. You can find there trainings for hobbyists who want to organise their own vegetable garden, an inspiring place to stay or a professional shared kitchen. If you are interested, please visit their website (www.papelotte.be) to get in direct contact with these young project leaders full of hope to accelerate the food transition that concerns us all.
Live soil cultivation
At The Barn Bio Market, we work hand in hand with producers to bring you quality organic products, always at the best price!
