In 2025, Jeph & Max, two members of The Barn team, set off to meet cheese producers in Haute-Savoie. Their favourite? Péguet Cheese Shop, a truly artisanal establishment where expertise has been passed down from generation to generation since 1950.
A story of passion and tradition
Nestled in the Vallée Verte in the commune of Fillinges, this family-run workshop transforms raw milk from local farmers into exceptional cheeses every day. Here, there is no pasteurisation: only the pure flavours of the terroir are preserved, resulting in cheeses with a unique taste that reflect the environment and ancestral know-how.
Savoyard art, in all its purity
Fromagerie Péguet is one of 140 cheese dairies in the region: these village cheese dairies where work is collective and the result is inimitable. Each cheese is the fruit of:
Their PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and organic cheeses are carefully matured to develop authentic, rich flavours.
Immerse yourself in their introductory video to find out about the co-operative, how work is organised in the cheese dairies and the cheese-making process. You can sample their delicious cheeses at our cheese counters, such as: Abondance, Reblochon, and Raclette (plain, peppered and smoked).
At The Barn Bio Market, we work closely with producers to bring you high-quality organic products, always at the best price!
