We are Quentin and Julien. We've been friends for a long time and have been inseparable since university, when we were roommates and in our various sports clubs! We decided to embark together on a project as crazy as we are: to make organic food more accessible.
It was in October 2016, both young dads, that we decided to quit our jobs and take the plunge into our dream project with the desire to undertake and have a direct and tangible impact on nature and biodiversity.
Strengthened by our previous experiences and more motivated than ever, we put together a team of ten people to open the first shop "The Barn Bio Market" in Etterbeek in May 2017. The feeling in our stomachs quickly turned into overwhelming energy when we saw the many customers gather in front of the shop before the doors opened. That day, we broke our first record: 500 customers in one day!
The store in Saint-Gilles opened its doors less than two years later, followed by those in Ixelles and Antwerp-South in 2019, Jette in 2020, Vanderkindere in 2021, and Auderghem at the beginning of 2023, with Schaerbeek and Antwerp-Berchem joining the adventure afterward… all met with the same enthusiasm from our customers.
In 2022, between the opening of two markets, we launched Les Potagers de la Grange, our own 3-hectare organic vegetable production. Our goal? To be as close as possible to the producers, understand their realities and challenges, with the aim of better supporting them and promoting organic farming.
